This was not the Marx of Islamism or the Lenin. This was the Trotsky, the man who understood 'War Islamism' and how individualized Islamic cells of only a few men could spread havoc and take the war to the enemy on ground of the Islamists own choosing. Although Abu Mus'ab al-Suri, whose middle name was Sethmarriam, was not a latter day Sun Tzu or Clauswitz, her might have been. Alleged to have been killed in the snowy hills of the Pashtun, his wareabouts are actually unknown.
A fascinating book about Islamist history, about the birth and making of the Islamist and the strategy of Islamism. He was truly an architect of the international terrorist revolution.

Fedora 10 Linux Administration, Networking, and Security ReviewA week ago I wrote a very bad review on this book after reading 3 pages. There were 10 mistakes in the first three pages. I could not believe how bad this was and put the book down looking for another book. In all fairness to Richard Petersen, I picked it up again a week later and found that the book is pretty good. I have now read a few hundred pages with very few mistakes. It is very well laid out and Richard has methodically gone through each topic in such a way that it is easily understood.
I also admire him for writing a book which does not have a long shelf life due to the constant changes in this software. He has put a lot of work into this. Although all this info is available on the net, he has put it all in one place which is very convenient.
I recommend this book.

But really, this book is a waste of paper.
This book is nothing but someone going to Wikipedia and doing a big cut and paste.
All the author does is copy from Wikipedia and put in into a digital format. You can do the same thing for free. If you look at the author, he has over 400 titles like this.
The so called author wrote 15 books alone in October 2011. That should tell you about this fraud. All they do it take current topics, go to Wikipedia, cut, paste, and then charge you for it. Any 10-year old could do the same thing.
There is an expose about this author and firm titled 'There's a sucker born every minute - and charlatans to make sure they pay for it' at [...]
The expose writes about how the company published free content and charges you for it.
Not only is this book free, the author uses a lot of filler from other Wiki articles. So you end up with non relevant text.
Do not buy this book. You will just be wasting your cash.

IT Infrastructure Architecture: Infrastructure building blocks and concepts ReviewWith "IT Infrastructure Architecture - Infrastructure building blocks and concepts", Sjaak Laan provides a broad and coherent picture of IT-infrastructure. The book presents an -introduction- to this subject; (technical) details only occasionally come into play. According to Laan a book covering the full width of the domain does not exist yet. He also states that his book is well suited to explain the interests as well as the complexity of the field of IT-infrastructure.
The author introduces his "Infrastructure Model" in chapter 1. This model is used to structure the remainder of the book. The book can be divided into two parts: a quality part and an concrete part. The quality part (chapter 2 - 5) discusses the concepts Availability, Performance and Security with respect to IT-infrastructure as a whole. The concrete part (starting with chapter 6) discusses the building blocks Data Centers, Servers, Networking, Storage, Virtualisation, Operating Systems and End User Devices.
For each of the concepts discussed in chapter 3, 4 and 5 Laan provides a number of aspects and patterns. Per building block (as of chapter 6) the author systematically focuses on historical developments, constituent parts and details of the applicable quality notions (Availability, Performance and Security).
Laan doesn't justify the correctness, completeness etc. of his Infrastructure Model. The same goes more than once for the constituent parts of the building blocks he discusses. And that is a pity, for that would further increase the power of his book.
The book is pleasantly ordered and reads easy. It contains a whole load of orienting information and can sure be used, in my opinion, as a reference work. The accessibility of the book leaves room for improvement: chapters/paragraphs are not numbered and organising/structuring text fragments are missing several times.
Summarising: Laan's first book, "IT Infrastructure Architecture", is an asset and a must for everyone who wants to (re)orient on the subject without being swamped by numerous details and technicalities.
