You can get the same info for free from Wikipeadia. So why pay for it?
Also, all of the info is thrown together, very unorganized. In fact, it is confusing.

I was wrong, it was not worth the money. The description had phrases like
"In easy to read chapters" and "This book explains in-depth the real drivers and workings of Cloud Computing Security. It reduces the risk of your technology, time and resources investment decisions by enabling you to compare your understanding of Cloud Computing Security with the objectivity of experienced professionals. "
what a load of baloney. This book is basically made up of someone looking they they took every security concept they knew, looked it up on wikipedia and copied it into the book. There are no chapters, no original thoughts, just concept name and then definition.
If i had wanted a dictionary i would have ordered one. I am very disappointed with this purchase.

Google Apps Deciphered: Compute in the Cloud to Streamline Your Desktop ReviewI needed to set up Google Calendar, Docs, Mail and Groups for a small NGO, then train the principals in their use. Because many of the services are free, Google Apps provides a very cost effective alternative to commercial programs if you can live with the idea of someone else storing all of your data.
I had a copy of Google Apps for Dummies to work from, which was pretty good but I always like to reference from a couple of sources. So I got this book. I really like how each program is covered in good depth, with excellent instructions. Common gotchas are pointed out and work arounds are given.
The book even offers some ways of using your existing desktop programs in conjunction with Google Apps, some of which hadn't occurred to me. Coverage is also given to backing up your online data, which probably too few people bother with. Google is good but not infallible.
I have only one small problem with the book and that's because the question of whether or not to even use Google Apps for sensitive information is a good idea or not isn't really addressed. If you're dealing with trade secrets of other sensitive information an online or cloud computing service may not be the best choice.Google Apps Deciphered: Compute in the Cloud to Streamline Your Desktop Overview

Python for Unix and Linux System Administration ReviewI recently got my hands on a copy of "Python for Unix and Linux System Administration". After reading it, I felt the time I've invested in reading it was well spent. The author introduced the reader to many different situations where python would help make their lives as system administrators easier, without confusing the reader with some complex forms or statements. My feeling is that this book is aimed at people who want to use Python to solve their problems quickly and efficiently, but only have a limited experience with the language - and the books fits that purpose well with its rather superficial approach that the reader can later extend later on with various available resources. It would only be fair that I too mention some of the shortcomings that I noticed while reading this book.
Pros:
1) The author introduces the reader to ways that Python can be used.
2) Most of the time there will be more than one way to accomplish a task. The author at times presents a scenario and showed the reader how to do the same task with different modules. This places the choice of which to use back where it belongs, with the reader.
3) The book has a website (most do these days) where the code examples can be downloaded. http://py4sa.appspot.com/
Cons:
1) More time was spent on iPython than was really needed.
2) The case of a word is important in Python. For instance "import Sys" and "import sys" are two completely different things. There were quite a few occasions where a module name was used as the first word in the sentence and because of that it was capitalized.
3) There was once instance that I saw where a script example had no indentation at all. Trying to run it would have resulted in complete failure.
4) It would have been nice if the script examples were named instead of leaving it to the reader to figure it out based on the imports used in another example.
When all is said and done I think I would recommend the book to others if I knew that they had at least some background with Python. And I would highly recommend that they check the addendum and errata pages.Python for Unix and Linux System Administration Overview

Foundation Zoho Reviewi think this is a great book, but i have found myself referencing ZOHO 4 EVERYONE much more than this one even though this one is double its size (and would seemingly have double the amount of information). it's just not quite as useful long term. i think it loses its value after the initial learning of the basics is complete. however, when i was just starting out as a beginner, i used this book most.Foundation Zoho Overview

Cloud Computing Bible ReviewAs technology advances, new buzzwords appear in the lexicon. Lately, we've been hearing more and more about "cloud computing." If you use Google Docs, Evernote, Dropbox, or web-based email, you're using cloud computing. According to Wiktionary.org, cloud computing is, "Computing in which services and storage are provided over the Internet (or `cloud')." Pretty simple, right? Maybe for us, as the user, but there are a lot of details that need to be worked out to create a cloud service.
This is where Cloud Computing Bible by Barrie Sosinsky comes in. If you're looking for a book that explains how to use some of the cloud services mentioned above, stop here. This is not a how-to book on specific applications or services. If, however, you're looking to create a cloud-based service, whether for public consumption or your own private company, then continue reading.
Cloud Computing Bible is divided into five parts: Examining the Value Proposition, Using Platforms, Exploring Cloud Infrastructures, Understanding Services and Applications, and Using the Mobile Cloud. Sosinsky goes into great detail explaining what cloud computing is and why it may or may not benefit a particular business. He discusses the architecture of building a cloud, how to address security, storage issues, and managing the cloud. In addition to these, and other topics, Cloud Computing Bible contains loads of diagrams, tables, screenshots, and web links to further explain points or to look up more information.
The only real issue I have with this book is the reading level listed on the back cover. I consider myself relatively technology savvy with reasonable intelligence, and much of the book was far beyond me. Classifying the reading level as Beginning to Advanced is a bit of a stretch. Someone with experience in programming or information technology (IT) would better appreciate everything Cloud Computing Bible has to offer. Intermediate to Advanced is more appropriate.
If you, or someone you know, is thinking of working with cloud computing, the Cloud Computing Bible would be a good starting point.
