Generating Electricity in a Carbon-Constrained World ReviewThis is not a read cover-to-cover type of book. And it's pricey (one star deduction). I sat at Powell's and went through it (so, caveat--this review is based on a skim with thorough read of only a few dozen pages) and was impressed by the level of detail and clarity of presentation of complex subjects. The editor, Fereidoon P. Sioshansi, adds an astute Epilogue at the end, titled Two Surprises and One Insight. His conclusion is very similar to that of other authors/editors of careful studies of our civilization's energy usage (e.g., [...]): It is impossible to continue our current level of energy consumption; it is not "sustainable" to use the buzzword du jour. Sioshansi's insight after editing 550 pages in 19 chapters focused on supply side issues is that the solution is on the demand side; lifestyle changes are inevitable.Generating Electricity in a Carbon-Constrained World Overview
